Some dogs and some families need more than a weekly lesson. Board and train gives your dog focused, consistent training while they're with me. I lay the groundwork, then I hand it back to you.
I train the same way I do in my private lessons. I teach first, somewhere quiet, before I add distance or distractions. Most dogs I meet aren't being stubborn. They just don't understand yet what's being asked. So we start with clarity.
How It Works

- We talk it through. We go over your goals and whether board and train is the right fit for your dog.
- Your dog stays and trains with me.Focused, consistent training every day of the stay.
- 6 follow-up lessons with you.I show you what your dog learned and how to handle it, so it holds up on your sidewalks, in your parks, and at home.

Why Train With Me
I've been working with dogs since 2012 and taking private behavior cases since 2015. I started my own home boarding and training business in 2020.
I use rewards. I also use tools, including e-collars, prong collars, and Starmark collars, when they fit your dog and you. I've learned from trainers with very different approaches, including Paul Edwards, Kelly Dunbar, Michael Ellis, Forrest Micke, and Dr. Melanie Uvlade. Dog training is problem solving, and I'd rather have more tools than fewer.
Board and Train FAQ
How much does board and train cost?
Board and train runs $900–$1,200 per week, depending on how long the program is. The 6 follow-up lessons are included.
How long is board and train?
It depends on your dog and your goals, and we'll talk it through before your dog starts. If you just need a shorter stay, my boarding brush-ups run from a single night to six weeks.
What happens when my dog comes home?
We do 6 follow-up lessons together. Your dog learns with me, then I teach you how to keep it going, so the training holds up with you, not just with me.
Do you use e-collars?
Yes, when it fits your dog and you. I always teach first before I add difficulty. E-collar off-leash training can be combined with board and train.
Do you take dogs from outside San Francisco?
Yes. Board and train is offered to the Bay Area and beyond. My in-home lessons cover San Francisco and the Peninsula, including Daly City, Pacifica, San Mateo, Burlingame, and Half Moon Bay.
